Happy 5th Birthday Karter

Well Karter has finally turned 5! His birthday was on the 22nd but we celebrated it on sunday with all of his cousing, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. We just had a little shindig at our house and ate cake and icecream. Nothing fancy but Karter enjoyed every bit of it. He was spoiled rotten with new toys, tractors, games, treats, clothes, and legos. It was awesome! Then on his real birthday, Zach and I took Karter and Kaidynce to the park to play, then Fongs, and icecream. It was a great day. Karter is amazing. He is so smart and funny. I love his big sense of humor! Every day is an adventure with him. Thanks everyone who supported my little man at his birthday party!

Sand and the Sun

On Wednesday me, my sister Jennie, our kids, and Diane and Cynthia headed out to the Egin Lakes for a day in the sand and sun. It was so hot and the water was warm! Perfect! The kids had a blast playing in the sand, building sand castles, throwing frisbee, and snail hunting. We all took out a little lunch and snacks and had a good old time! We stayed out for 5 hours. It was a great way to spend a day . The kids enjoyed every minute of it, and so did everyone else. We had a relaxing yet exciting summer day. If you are bored and don't know what to do , head out to the lakes and have yourself a fun day in the sand and sun!

Cancun

Hola!!! So about 4 months ago I got a call from my girl, Lacey Hawker, asking us if we wanted to go to Mexico with them. Of course we said yes and started making plans. My sister Jennie, had mentioned that they wanted to do something fun for their 10 year anniversary, so I invited them to go to. Time went fast and on June 2, we flew out to Cancun, Mexico.
It was AWESOME!!! We stayed at an all inclusive resort called GR Solaris. The food was ok but the resort was wonderful! It was very clean and the staff were soooo fun! The weather couldn't have been any better. It was HOT! Just what we all needed. The ocean was beautiful and the sand was white. PERFECTION.
We had a lot of crazy adventure. Like getting lost in down town Mexico after trying to find Wal-mart. (Yes even in Mexico we have to go to Wal-mart.) It was scary. But we made it safe and sound. Thanks to our bud Cody who happens to speak Spanish. We drove almost everywhere and every time it was an adventure. SO FUN! WE stayed there for a whole week and it was one the best vacations we have had. Thanks Hawkers for the invite!!

Happy Birthday Kaidynce

So little miss sassy Kaidynce turned 2 on the 22nd ! We had Grandma Cynthia come over on the day of her birthday and we decorated a clown cake for sissy. Karter, Kaidynce, and their cousin Anjanae helped and they did such a great job. Then we celebrated her birthday with her aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and great grandparents on Saturday. We had some yummy food and delicious cupcakes to eat. Kaidynce got spoiled with a new tricycle and clothes and toys. It was a great birthday for her! Thanks everyone who came and supported Kaidynce on her special day!

Pretty Much

So the other morning I looked out our window and noticed the nieghbor's cow was having its baby. The calf was just barely sticking out and I knew it was going to be a short process, so I called for Karter to come and watch. At first he didn't know what in the world he was looking at, but after I explained that it was a baby, he was so excited and totally into it. He stared out the window with his nose smashed against the glass, not saying a word. All I could think about was the poor mom, knowing how bad it must hurt! It took about 10 minutes and finally the cow plopped out into a pile of straw. It was so small and cute! Karter was so excited to go see it so we got all dressed and walked over to the nieghbors pasture. After a while of oohing and aahhing over how cute and little the new baby calf was, Karter looked at me and asked,"mom, is that how me and Kaidynce came out of your belly?" I started laughing, and thinking, should I lie or tell the truth. I figured it made no sense to lie to him so I just answered back, "pretty much!" He started laughing and then made the comment, "so we were like little turds." Again, laughing, I just said, "pretty much." There was really nothing else I could say at the time. It was just so innocent. I love his curiosity!

A Daddy , Daughter Moment

So over the last few weeks, we have been working with Kaidynce on potty training. She is 22 months old, so I figured it was time. I haven't been pushing it at all, and she is catching on to it so fast! Its been so awesome. I haven't had to change a poopy diaper in a week. Thats pretty darn exciting if you ask me. She is doing so good. This picture I took was too cute not to take. Kaidynce had to go potty, so Zach took her and a few minutes later, this is what I found. Now if Zach knew I had a picture of him doing this , he would be embarrassed. (I guess its not that manly to paint your daughters toes and fingernails while she's on the potty.) Oh well. I thought it was cute.
